TANZANIA will likely stand at a better and more professional side to host the 50th edition of the International Apicultural Congress, Apimondia, following brave decision by Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) to erect a tailor-made ultra-modern conference hall for hosting the key event.
Upon completion, installation of the state-of-the-art facility at the country’s tourist city of Arusha is projected to place Tanzania in a comfortable position to host the event which will attract thousands and hundreds of relevant stakeholders into the country.
And, as part of further demonstrating its commitment towards the 2027 Apimondia, the state-owned centre ( AICC) have decided to bridge efforts with the Tanzania Honey Junction (THJ) in the preparation and staging of this year’s Tanzania Honey Show 2024.
Drafted to take shape for three consecutive days, from June 19 to 21, the envisaged event, Tanzania Honey Show 2024, which will be used as a potential podium for Tanzania to prepare to host Apimondia 2027 will be staged at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC), thanks to AICC.
Yesterday, Thursday 9,2024, the Managing Director of AICC, Ms. Christine Mwakatobe and Managing Director of Tanzania Honey Junction Ms. Rose Msangi convened for a brief, but constructive session to delve how best the two sides can work in sync to ensure professional and successive organisation of the events.
The fruitful collaboration surfaces as Tanzania prepares to host the prestigious Apimondia Congress in 2027, showcasing AICC's dedication to fostering sustainable development and economic growth in Tanzania.
During the talks, Ms. Mwakatobe highlighted AICC's rationale for partnering with the Tanzania Honey Show, saying: "AICC is deeply committed to supporting initiatives that catalyze growth and innovation across various sectors. Our partnership with Tanzania Honey Junction for the Tanzania Honey Show 2024 is rooted in our belief that fostering a vibrant beekeeping industry not only aligns with our sustainability goals but also contributes to Tanzania's global competitiveness,"
Furthermore, she underscored AICC's commitment to hosting Apimondia 2027 by highlighting the ongoing progress in building the necessary infrastructure.
"AICC is dedicated to ensuring the success of Apimondia 2027, and we’re currently making significant strides in constructing the vast-modern conference building with international quality and capacity to accommodate the prestigious event," she unveiled.
And the AICC Chief boss, Ms. Mwakatobe added that the center’s partnership with Tanzania Honey Junction for the Tanzania Honey Show 2024 was signaling their commitment towards preparations for Apimondia 2027 in Tanzania.
On her part, Ms. Msangi expressed to have been impressed with the development, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in driving impactful change.

Tanzania has been selected to host the 50th edition of the International Apicultural Congress, slated for 2027.
The annually staged event under the auspices of the Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations (APIMONDIA) is expected to bring into the country around 4,000 international beekeepers.
