TRAINING ON ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING AND COUNTER TERRORISM FINANCING POLICY REGULATIONS AND ITS EFFECTS ON CIVIC SPACE

"Safeguarding Civic space While Countering the Financing of Terrorism and ML in Tanzania. 

THEME:

Going through the Tanzania Second mutual evaluation report and regulations on Money laundering,(ML), Terrorism Financing( TF), and Proliferation Financing (PF) as NPO/CSO's can be directly or indirectly subjected to  these crimes. 

NPO/CSO's have deeply engaged in discussing  the proliferation Financing as the process  that facilitates the movement and development of proliferation-sensitive items and as such, can contribute to global instability and potentially catastrophic loss of life if weapons of mass destruction (WMD) are developed and deployed   to the respective destiny. 

As CSOs/NPOs has to make sure that aren't involving with the sanctioned countries/designated individuals as the region and international ML/TF and PF monitoring institutions such as FATF and ESAAMLG can rate our country as the non complying Nation with regards to the international set standards hence to be subjected to a higher risk of been internally sanctioned. 

This may be accompanied with the burning of the identified NPO/CSOS hence affecting the sectoral sustainability

In case that NPO/CSOs, comes to realize  unknowingly engaged with sanction designated Institute/individuals, they have to report to the Tanzania ministry of home affairs.
