THE the Ministry of Minerals is working to set up a strategy to ensure the mining sector is linked with the national investment and economic development plans in order to have a productive use of the country's resources, especially in the mining sector.


The vital development has been unveiled by the Minister of Minerals, Mr. Anthony Mavunde during his audience with the Minister in the President's Office, Planning and Investment, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo.

The two ministers conducted a brief session in Dodoma Capital City to chart sober ways to help building a conducive platfom to propell influx of investment pace and good relations in the mining sector across the country.


During the meeting, minister Mavunde spoke over the need of setting up good working cooperation between the two key ministries, the vital development which according to him will automatically see the mining sector operates its daily activities in reflection to the national set economic development plans and investment.


He emphasized that, as part to scale up the performance of the sector, the parent ministry was currently working tooth and nail to conduct diverse minerals research through the Institute of Geology and Mineral Research Tanzania (GST) with an eye to attract more potential investors in the country.


"We must get accurate information on the minerals deposits that available in the country, especially the minerals that attracts huge demand in the globe markets so that we can be able to extract them in large quantities and cater for the skyrocketing demand and thus allowing the country to benefit accordingly, " he observed.


Speaking for his part, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo expressed that the President's Office of Planning and Investment was working to coordinate and promote a favorable investment environment and policies.

He added that, the strategic minerals that available in the country must be used properly to assist Tanzania to improve investments flow, as well as economic gains.


The Acting Director of Policy and Planning at the Ministry of Minerals, Angelo Haule said that the recommendations of the priorities for the Financial Year 2024/25 was to continue conducting geophysical research using airplanes (High Resolution Airborne Geophysical Survey) and to strengthen the systems of data collection and deliverylicense.


"We will continue working to strengthen investment and technology in the mining sector so that to develop important minerals and strategic minerals to encourage investment, trade and value addition to minerals,"Haule unveiled.


Similarly, the Chief Executive of GST Dr. Mussa Budeba expressed that as per the Ministry's Vision 2030, 'Mining is Life and Wealth', saying the country's mining industry will conduct research to reach many areas in the country and enable small-scale miners to dig productively instead of guessing.

The session was also attended by various high- ranked officers from the two ministries and together they have promised to cooperate in order to work together with the aim of creating a friendly environment for investment in the country.
